ABOUT THE THERAPIST
I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in Tucson, AZ with over 15 years of experience in behavioral health. I obtained my Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology from the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point and Master’s degree in Clinical Health Psychology from Northern Arizona University. I promote various mindfulness techniques to help obtain therapeutic goals.

Treatment modalities I utilize include Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing Therapy (EMDR), and Motivational Interviewing (MI). Furthermore, I am a certified EMDR therapist who works with adults individually from diverse backgrounds. EMDR certification involves thorough, superior training to possess the ability and understanding necessary to be a competent EMDR practitioner. EMDR is common for treating post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) but can also be used it as an effective treatment of OCD, substance abuse, depression, anxiety, phobias, and panic disorders. I am also trained in EMDR "flash technique" therapy. Here is a link for more information: https://flashtechnique.com/wp/

Therapy services are offered via teletherapy (audio and visual sessions) only. I have been pleasantly surprised by the effectiveness of teletherapy services since switching to distance therapy services April 2020. I am able to offer the same therapeutic modalities through distance therapy as I was with in-person sessions. Moreover, I am able to offer EMDR therapy with the use of the online platform remotEMDR. Two requirements I ask of clients interested in teletherapy is that you have a quality internet connection and a private location for our sessions.

Additional benefits of teletherapy include:
-
Receiving services via teletherapy allows you to receive services at times or in places where the service may not otherwise be available.
-
Receive services in a fashion that may be more convenient and less prone to delays than in-person meetings.
-
Receive services when you are unable or unwilling to travel to the service provider’s office.
